All hail the Tivo. Of course, now that I have the short people, the tivo is chock full of NickJr/Disney shows. You know you've been paying too much attention when you're critiquing the problem solving methods of "Mickey Mouse Clubhouse."

Movies have been on a constant rotation via BlockbusterOnline, mainly because I can then pick up new ones at the store.

The last few I watched:
_Ghosts of Mars_, _District 9_, _Push_, _Cloverfield_, _SWAT_, _Big Trouble in Little China_, _Sherlock Holmes_

Brandtson, Modest Mouse, DMB, Sting, Moby, The Killers, The White Stripes, Paranoid Social Club, Jack's Mannequin, Origa...I find itunes to be fantabulous.

Books read so far this year:

_World War Z_,
_The Watchmen_,
_Play Dirty_
I usually keep a stack of books and work through them slowly...the plan is 25 books this year. I might review these on the blog portion of the show.

In the queue/progress:

_A World Lit by Fire_
_Hawk and Fisher_

Ah, and I would be remiss to forget my comic books:

_Thieves and Kings_ (when it actually comes out.)
_The Sword_
_Pax Romana_
_DMZ_ (Though this is not as good as Channel Zero)
_Fables_ and _Jack of Fables_
_BPRD_ and its variants...
_Mouse Guard_ (Not Mice Templars--that sucks.)
_Conan_
_The Walking Dead_ (I scored 81% on the survival test)
_Wasteland_ ...mmm, future post-apocalyptic B&W
_KotD_

Upstate NY. Once upon a time I was from Colorado, and I did live on a desert island for a while.

Storyteller

Brew beer, cook chinese, fencing, program, landscaping, be a busy dad.

I love seeing what my brother finds at:

I also write a lot...I've got about 16ish projects done for the RPGA Living Greyhawk campaign in Keoland, the Principality of Ulek, and the Sheldomar metaregion. I've been a senior patron member of Wolfgang Baur's Open Design and try to regularly submit queries to Kobold Quarterly:

I'm finding I prefer writing for Ars Magica, though, and I've been submitting to Sub Rosa:

http://www.subrosamagazine.org

Chronopia...but I just don't have the time to paint whole armies.

Puerto Rico! Arkham Horror, Dust, Risk 2210, Wings of War, Carcassonne, Monster Mayhem, Monsters Menace America, Acquire, Grand Tribunal, Zombies 1-4, Vampire: Prince of the City, Betrayal on House on the Hill (I've ended up the traitor four of the five times I've played.)

I'm waiting for the chance to play Nero, Android, and Risk: Godstorm

Conquest of Middle Earth: Episodes 1-3.
"Hunt at Sammath Naur"
"Sacrifice at the White City"
"The Fall of Imladris"

"Redcloak Ruckus" -- _Tales of Zobeck_ (Silver Ennie, 2009, Best Electronic Book)
Sub Rosa Mazazine, issues 1-5
"Dwarven Airships" -- Kobold Quarterly #7
"Clockwork Hounds and Hunters" -- Kobold Quarterly #10
"Deathspittle Bombardiers" -- Koboldquarterly.com
"Frostfang Yeti" -- Koboldquarterly.com
"Hall of Devouring Waters" --Koboldquarterly.com
"Templeforge Skycasters & Airships" -- Koboldquarterly.com

World of Darkness, Mind's Eye Theatre (Masquerade), a couple of MIT games that were great.

but I haven't done this in years...my friend Ben sometimes runs a CoC game I'd like to try.

Ars Magica, D&D3.5, Conan, Pathfinder, 7th Sea, Deadlands, CoC, Star Wars, Paranoia, D&D1/2E, MERP/Rolemaster, All Flesh Must be Eaten, Faery Tales. I'd love to try Fading Suns, or Colonial Gothic, maybe Exalted or Roma Imperious, even Grimm. CTHULHUTECH!

Ahhh, XCom, you terrible siren. the Myth franchise, oh beautiful Myth. Halo(in all its incarnations), System Shock2, Ghost in the Shell, Spartan: Total Warrior, Final Fantasy X, FF:VII, Left 4 Dead

I really don't have too much time for these anymore, but I find shooting zombies in the head very cathartic.

Urbandead.com has been fun, but for the most part, I'm not really into these. All smash, no story.

Netrunner, Magic the Gathering--but not since Kamigawa...blue is the one true color. ;)

_Halls of the Mountain King_ (d20 and 4E versions)

Games where the focus is purely on combat. If I just wanted to smash mobs I'd go play Halo1-3, at least then I get to run them over in the Puma, err, Warthog. I need me some shared story.

Spelling, or more appropriately misspelling...it's a matter of pride.

And people who stop in the middle of intersections and point up during red lights like they have no choice...wtf is that?

_The Breaking of Forstor Nagar_ from Rite Publishing

I prefer _Flights of Fantasy_ over by Colonie High School on Sand Creek Road, off of Wolf Road in Albany. They have a good selection of games, a space for playing, a wide variety of SF&F books and a quality staff of helpful people. The cats have some personality, too.

George, over at Zombie Planet has more space for games, but less in the way of non-gaming books. His upstairs area does boast a couch and a comic shop, though, so it's a very close second.

A pitcher of hot saki, a plate full of sushi, a good house band, a pack of friends, and a cool summer night. It's a good place to start.
