Bite Sized Mind Candy in RPGs
Two stories from RPG books stick in my mind. The first one is from cyberpunk 2020. It's most easily found in the Deep Space supplement, but I think it briefly appears in the corebook as well. It's a story about how a netrunner performed a run out to the Voyager 2 probe outside of our solar system. And... that's about it. Oh yeah, the hacker planted an image of a camel and then a camel exploding along with the message of "Look at how far I went to smoke a camel," but that'... Read More

Cyberpunk and the Advancement of Reality
Alright, so there are two things that I really love. The first is cyberpunk and all its trappings: the neon and the chrome, baby. The second is bleeding edge technology. When I read a cyberpunk book or get into a world like Shadowrun I get very excited about the real-world possibility that is only decades away. I can't help but say "ooh, look! Night City Tales: Aftermath
Vyusher had awakened to the sound of engines roaring. He groggily looked about the room. The cyborg killer had been scattered across the room by the concussive force of the frag grenade he’d made the thing eat. He hadn’t made it far before it blew; there were bits of fragmented metal embedded in his back. Voices brought him to a heightened clarity. He could hear the Livemetal cyborg and the netrunner Karrilyn talking. “Forgive m... Read More

Night City Tales: Dustdown v1.6
Choking on the nanite flood pouring down his throat, Silverblue Alpha stared at the Idol, the metal man crawling inexorably towards him, and the Cee-Metal rising behind the metal man. Silverblue Ceta had played him for a fool, as the humans said. All of this had been a ruse. He couldn’t jump to the Data Pool, couldn’t escape his meat body’s state of rapid decay. The nanites chewed into him, and he watched as the metal man lashed out at Silver, a... Read More

Night City Tales: Dustdown v1.5
He crouched in the shadows overlooking the Arasaka Towers. For a day now, he had set up his arsenal, watched and waited. Absorbing the patrols of the guards, knowing their shift changes like clockwork, waiting for the call that would be the beginning of the end of all this waiting. He couldn’t help but think on the irony of Silverblue Alpha’s choice of lairs. At first, he had not wanted to believe that all of this was possible. Mankind’s a... Read More

12/29/08 The New Look
The new style, Celestial, has gone live! We hope you like it. If you preferred the old look you can go to your account page and set it as your default style. To do this scroll down your account page, look on the left hand side of your screen, and you will see a box called Themes. You can choose between the classic RPGBomb style or the fresh new Celestial look. We will be updating the themes list with more styles as time goes on, so keep an eye out!
Thank you and have a Happy New Year!,
