Behind the GM's screen - Numbers
I apologize for being remiss in writing about my journey but over the past several months, other non-game related concerns have been taking precedence. Nevertheless, I had left my poor tribe, members of NeoPangea at a stand-still unfortunately until recently when I had to focus on these other issues forcing my hand to drop the ball on the GMing. :( Until I get everything else squared away, we've had to stop temporarily until I could see the way again. In the mean... Read More

Battle Fotress Independence: Ooops!
Last night, while talking about the Battle Fortress Independence campaign with the player of the character known as Vermillion, I finally said the identifying name of the VF-22 out loud. As anyone glancing at my blog should know, I happily loot the variable fighters from Macross, give them some stats of dubious accuracy, and plop them into my campaign. I often give them new designations. While the VF-2 from Macross II is still the Valkyrie II, the YF-19 from Macross Plus becomes... Read More

Warhammer: Campaign Building
Ok. So, my last campaign, a White Wolf Mage game, imploded when I got the hint that my players wanted to play that new fangled 4e thing rather than Mage. Imagine that. Alright. I can deal. I think I've decided on Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay.(WFRP) My group definately has a fantasy genre bent so it's best to give them what they like. I'm toying wi... Read More

Plot to get some gaming action
So without a group to game with, or a good store to plug into the local gaming scene, the wheels in my head are starting to turn as a GM again. My resources are unfortunately split between my new local, the greater Seattle area, and my old local middle Michigan, stupid moving space limitations this means that all my old NPCs and maps, info sheets, my painted minis, and half my books are all in Michigan, while the other half of my books, my dice collection (over 3500 and growing) and some u... Character Creation Fatigue
Thanks to my procrastinatory tendencies, I often leave things too long and the work piles up. Case in point is creating characters for convention games.Typically, I get two or three good ideas for characters that I get really excited about and wish I could play myself. Those ideas run around in my head for months or weeks. Catchphrases and mannerisms start forming in my conceptions of them. Usually some less exciting ideas for the other three characters -- I like to have six characters max in my... Read More
