What to do next?
In between the zillions of things I'm doing, I have been thinking about my next campaign and which system I want to run. Originally at the beginning of fall I had an urge to run horror/supernatural. But now I'm drifting towards Cartoon Action Hour It's the newest game I own.I've been waiting a looooooooooooooooooooong time for this new edition.I'm hopelessly in love with 80's cartoons! Duh!So this last week at crafting night at the FLGS I proposed my current idea. I want to run a Masters of the... Read More

Geek Quiz
All right I'm bringing up something I used to do with my old Sunday Gaming Group. After a 5-8 hour sessions of gaming some of the more geeker of us were never quite done flexing our brains. So we would sit around watching a movie and then throw hypothetical scenarios at each other to see what ideas we would come up with. Anyways I've been playing in an on/off campaign of Aberrant. In it we are all running villains in the city of Pittsburgh. Why the GM chose this city I never asked and of all... Read More

Curmudgeonly Ramblings: The DM Recipe
It is my considered opinion that a terrific Dungeon master is:

One part Rules Lawyer
One part Referee
One part Impartial Mediator

Five parts Complete and Utter S.O.B.

Let me break it down.

Rules Lawyer: While no one asks you to know every single rule, you better have a good grasp of the fundamentals of the game you're running. Missed/blown calls frustrate players and m... Read More

Real life magic items with reverb
by izzy
My dungeon master brought up an issue with the up coming Olympics relating to speedos,
Apparently there is a swim suit that makes you swim better and they are considering banning it.
He said it was similar to a magic item. I would say more like master work but it makes the point.
Ok
You are a beginner guitar player with a really bad guitar. It will take you months to make it through one song because the guitar keeps going out of tune and it's damn hard to fret. You fingers hurt befor... Read More

Paragons of Freedom: The Tunguska Event
So I'm brainstorming setting history for my superhero mash-up of Green Ronin's Freedom CityParagons settings. The age of paranormals kicked off when a cosmic string (understand this is a very inaccurate, comic booky interpretation of what a cosmic string is and does) whipsawed through part of the planet in 1908, ending in an enormous explosion that came to be known as the Tunguska event, perhaps most famously referenced at the end of Ghostbusters. Areas through which the string passed suddenly s... Read More
