Behind the GM's screen - Joshua
"Even the walls of Jericho fell ..." -- Kamala to Captain Picard, "The Perfect Mate" (Ep. 121, Star Trek: The Next Generation) The RPG industry is facing its own battle of Jericho as the younger generations embrace the numerous popular MMOs that the industry are dominating the games market. My World isn't WOW, but it's sure fun to visit!
The Quest for 70 Boy, I’m starting to feel the fire – I’m at level 67, with about 20% XP left until I’m 68. This takes a lot of work, though. I’m in Netherstorm right now and getting ganked and clobbered left and right. It’s a little high for my level, but it sure is fun to see that XP bar moving up in big jumps. My high “toon” [character] is my mage. For the uninitiated, mages have a nickname – “the glass cannon”. We do possibly the hig... Read More

Gas prices and RPG'ing
Our table-top role-playing group has finally succumbed to the ever-rising gas prices that mark our times. Our RPG gaming, has been mostly alternating between tabletop Tunnels and Trolls and City of Heroes which is on-line anyway over the past year. Most of the tabletop we've been doing has moved to the conventions that we atte... Read More

Online Fun: Urbandead.com
Now I'm not usually one for a mmorpg, a massively multiplayer online role playing game, but I had to take notice of urbandead.com. This is a low-tech game of limited turns and interestingly enough... no random monsters! Every zombie you see, every person you find to eat, is another player! Set in the fictional town of Malton, Urban Dead allows you to choose from three different military classes, three different civilian classes, two scientific, and of course, life as a zombie! Skills and... Read More

12/29/08 The New Look
The new style, Celestial, has gone live! We hope you like it. If you preferred the old look you can go to your account page and set it as your default style. To do this scroll down your account page, look on the left hand side of your screen, and you will see a box called Themes. You can choose between the classic RPGBomb style or the fresh new Celestial look. We will be updating the themes list with more styles as time goes on, so keep an eye out!
Thank you and have a Happy New Year!,
