Star Wars, the Fantasy.
A while ago, I got bored and was talking with friends about how any good movie could be remade over and over again.. mix it up, change the genre, and put enough self referencing jokes and you could be on a spinner..So we discussed the concept of Star Wars, remade as a fantasy.. Imagine, Opening scene, a giant Eagle is being chased by a great red dragon. On the backs of the two beasts, wizards are blasting spells at each other, dialogue between a young man, an elf and a dwarf, show that some obj... Read More

Star Wars: A Child's Tale
I mentioned in my previous blog, a game of Star wars that I attempted to run, that failed shortly after it began due to scheduing conflicts. The game was called "Star Wars: A Child's Tale" and was set well before the prequels, during Yoda's prime and when Chewbacca was just a boy. Northeast Wars is back, baby!
Got back from NE wars earlier this evening. I am bushed and craving a little quiet, which I suppose are two hallmarks of a successful convention.I arrived Friday evening after work and picked up my registration stuff. There was a nice little bit of swag: a customized d6 with the NE wars troll on it. Checking out the sign-ups, I found I'd signed up for World of Warcraft: The Boardgame, which I didn't remember doing, but whatever. I'd played it once before and had a so-so experience. This time aro... Read More

Gone Conning
Today marks the resurrection of Northeast Wars, Burlington, VT's local gaming convention. It ran for seven or so years back in the 90s before going into hibernation. Now it's back. Hooray! This will be my first NE Wars. I was young, oblivious to such things as conventions and not a gamer when it was going on in the 90s. Well, I played Magic: the Gathering for a summer before I realized it was a huge moneysink and that being 13, I had no money... Read More
