Third Generation Role Player
*sigh* last night I watched my oldest son start his first D&D campaign.  It isn't the first time he role played but it was the first D&D and the first with an actual DM, minis etc...  He had a blast.  Looks like the group he was playing with will be RP'ing every Saturday night from now on.  I am going to do my best to join them when I can.  I never really thought about it until today but my Dad loved the old military  RP sets that were a precursor to D&D et al, I play.. and now my son..... the third.. and hopefully not the the last generation of gamers in my family!!  Just kinda cool.

This is so sweet......and I can relate, as my 3 kids are definitely gamers as well. Makes you feel all proud and geeky, donnit?

I agree with you, that is kinda cool.  My folks didn't game, but my older brother (by 12 years did.)  He'd come home from college and run me and a couple of friends through some dungeons.  And because it was about the same time the D&D Cartoon was on, he would get surprised when I knew the names of some of the monsters.  I have some great memories from all stages of my life at the game table. 

I have a 9 year old neice who likes all the card and board games I bring home.  I haven't gotten her in to RPG's yet.  I think I'll wait till she asks about them.  Anyway, that's great about your son!  Keep the ranks or gamers growing strong!

12/29/08 The New Look


The new style, Celestial, has gone live! We hope you like it. If you preferred the old look you can go to your account page and set it as your default style. To do this scroll down your account page, look on the left hand side of your screen, and you will see a box called Themes. You can choose between the classic RPGBomb style or the fresh new Celestial look. We will be updating the themes list with more styles as time goes on, so keep an eye out!
