Banelord - Khorne Warlord Titan Project - Part 6
Halloween Express = Good place to find a Traitor Titan cockpit!

Now that most of the woodworking is done I'll be shifting to the cosmetic aspect of finishing the titan.
I have decided to make the Titan's parts interchangeable. The cockpit and weapons will be swappable so it can be either a Warlord or Banelord Titan. This way I stay true to my original project but leave myself a way out. Cause I don't like crazy titans!
Today I went out shopping for fiddly bitz that would go on the outside of the machine. Being a cheap bastard I like to use stuff that is effective but also cost effective. My first example is going to Halloween Express and picking up two nice plastic skulls at $4 a piece. The first human skull will make a great evil cockpit. The second one with open mouth will be for the Banelord. The open mouth will accommodate a cannon nicely.
Next I headed over to my local hardware store for one of the best cheap decorative things out there. You ever build something and think to yourself "Gee I wish there was something cheap that would look like steel ribbed power cables". There is! It's called Split Loom Electrical Conduit. Your car probably has miles of it in the engine compartment. It comes in many diameters from a 1/2 inch up to 5". There may be even bigger that I haven't seen. Anyways I tend to stick to the 1/2 and 1" sizes which are $.49 a foot up to $.79. I used it to bulk up the arms on the Biledriver. Like in this picture. It takes paint well and is a great and cheap way to decorate vehicles, buildings and titans.
While at the hardware store I picked up something usable as a connector for the head to the body. Again the best things are the cheapest and without having to compromise. I went with 2" PVC plastic pipe connectors. You can see them above, they are what the skulls above are sitting on.
Lastly if you want to decorate with chain I suggest looking in your local hardware store. Someone once said to go to a jewelry store for small chain. Why? So I can pay thier rediculous prices for over-priced costume chain? Sha-right!
I have an idea to use plastic chain on the Khone Titan as a way of representing how they had to tie it down between battles to keep it from running rampant. Just like Chaos Dreadnoughts.
