The other day I was nice to my computer, I opened it up and cleaned the dust out. No problem. Then I was getting the garage ready for winter, putting things away to make room for a car. No problem. In the stuff (garage sale stuff) was an old extrenal CD burner, I brought it in the house to play with, thinking it worked fine when I put it away. Well in the meantime I had a drive by virus attack (clicked on the wrong spot on some page I guess), insidious and a royal pain! I thought I got rid of that so I tried the burner... low and behold.
Blue Scrren of Death.. tried a few times and the same result. From them on it was downhill. I did scans galore, deleted unused (unwanted) programs still troubles. Tried to do a scan of all my drives on reboot and then a
Blue Screen of Death again when it was done.. 3 times! I coudln't get back into my original windows setup so I switched drives, relaoded windows on a new drive (just enough room for it @ 3GB) and am trying to find out how to save some of the orgininal programs that came with my computer before reformatting the original drive and reloading windows. The one I really want to save is my Roxio burner software, it updates by itself and works nice and simple.
