The “Drama Phase” is a new phase of combat one of my players stumbled upon during our game tonight. It occurs after you get the crap kick out of you by the DM with a series of incredibly lucky roles. After which the player goes on and on about how unfair life is. Literally the RPG version of Pollyanna.
Of course no one around the table gave him any sympathy. Frankly it was hysterical to watch as his mind suffer a kind of psychotic brake. Every round it only got worse as he could not hit the broad side of a barn to save his life and I the DM rolled 20’s and massive amounts of exploding dice. Then some one finally dubbed his out burst as the Drama phase which only egged us on. The jokes were flying and people were falling out of there chairs with laughter. Every round was worse, every round brought more laments of poor me and we laughed even harder until the poor guy threw his dice to the table chucked his character and stormed off. This of course was the funniest moment!
Its time to get your Drama phase on!
