Geek Quiz

All right I'm bringing up something I used to do with my old Sunday Gaming Group. After a 5-8 hour sessions of gaming some of the more geeker of us were never quite done flexing our brains. So we would sit around watching a movie and then throw hypothetical scenarios at each other to see what ideas we would come up with. Anyways I've been playing in an on/off campaign of Aberrant. In it we are all running villains in the city of Pittsburgh. Why the GM chose this city I never asked and of all the players I'm the only one who has been there in my trucking travels. I guess I should bring that up some day. Any-who while working on my Titan today I put in my Masters of the Universe DVDs. The episodes brought up a question that I might pose to my players when I run Cartoon Action Hour SE2.

How would you defeat He-man?

Strengths: Let's look at what he can do. He has nearly unlimited strength gained from the powers of Castle Greyskull and the cordite chest harness he wears. There is little if anything he can't punch through, rend or otherwise destroy. His quick reflexes and Power Sword can deflect nearly any ranged attack. He is also a rather intelligent man. For those things he doesn't know he has many knowledgeable friends to go to for answers. He also has the power of teamwork with all the varied powered and unpowered friends who are always willing to help him out.

Weaknesses: Prince Adam is his secret identity. Which is important. Otherwise his enemies would exploit this by taking friends hostage.  Prince Adam cannot turn into He-man without his Power Sword.  He-man has a very high level of honor and won't kill ever. He-man also cares for his friends and wouldn't allow them to do anything he thinks would be too dangerous for them. I realize that true fans of 80's cartoons would point out that He-man would believe this a character strength. But remember we are looking at this from a villain’s outlook.

So what would you do to take control of Eternia and the awesome powers of Greyskull from their protector He-man?

Serious entries only please! Now Geek me out your theories!

See your local recruiter.

Now there's some villiany I can get behind! Does your evil organization have any openings?

You need to place He-Man "in the horns of a dillema" by giving him a no-win situation.  Does he save Teela or does he use his power sword to keep something else from happening.  Ensure that they are not in the same location so that he can't throw his sword one way and jump another to do both things at the same time.  The other key pieces is to either neutralize his goody-two-shoes lackeys or at least remove them from his ability to communicate so that they can't save the day while he is trapped.

True that is a grim way of dealing with him versus the tamer 80's cartoon solutions. Though it does bring up the question. Why didn't the writers persue that as an option for Skeletor? Teela plenty of times almost stumbled on him about to transform, and like Lois Lane would make the paraphrased remark of "Hey whenever He-mans around you're not?!". Skeletor in the past has taken Adam prisoner and unknowingly shoots his own plans to heck when he expects He-man to show up to rescue him.

Talk about D'OH!

In the comic that came with the figures I seem to recall He-Man and Skeletor being more Yin/Yang each having a half of the Power Sword... Seems I recall they had to work together to defeat Trapjaw in the comic. Pity they dumbed Trapjaw down so much cause he was by far the coolest Master of the Universe.

The only thing I don't think Skeletor tried was to find out Adam was He-Man. Hell, they captured the Sorcereress a couple hundred times and that never worked out. About the only way to defeat He-Man would be to find his secret identity as Adam and totally assassinate him in a way far too dark for cartoonland.

OUCH!

I'd start by killing every single one of Skeletor's minions and sticking their heads on pikes as a warning to others of the consequences of incompetence.
