With the season of haunting upon us my memories always go back to what, in my humble opinion, is the best haunted house in the world... bar none. When I graduated high school I started working at Haunted Verdun Manor every Halloween and did that for several seasons. I introduced my best friend to it and he has worked there every season for the past 17 years. The owner, the late Lance Pope, was an effects genius. The vast majority of the costumes and masks he made himself. Instead of tearing it down after every season, he kept what he had and spent all year improving on it. His dream was to create a haunted house theme park and he succeeded. If any of you find yourselves in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area this Halloween season I HIGHLY suggest you check it out. I have no doubts that it will become the haunted house experience that you measure all others against (I know I do).
