Garen Sylus tries to come across as the candidate for the people but nothing could be further from the truth. He speaks of the jobs he is losing at his brewery. OSHA has repeatedly cited Sylus for unsafe working conditions... his workers are leaving not because of the competition I pose but for fear of their own lives. More than one worker has drowned in the vats of Sylus.
Sylus says that I make policy to favor Adventuring Parties but not the commoner. Nothing could be further from the truth. By making our town more attractive to Adventuring Parties I've slashed the budget expenditures on law enforcement. The peace is kept through a mutually beneficial mercenary agreement with the adventuring groups that they can keep whatever loot they find on a law breaker. They then turn around and toast to their victory at our inns. True, I'm a businessman and do whatever I can to attract business but then I turn around and donate a large portion of my profits to religious charitable organizations which pay for orphanages and give aid to the needy.
Garen Sylus is a wannabe dwarf... his accent is faked and his beard is pasted on. Next time you see him, give it a hard tug. He's more halfling than dwarf.
