Woo! As much as I like having a fun battle it never hurts to win! Today was a 6-way 40K battle with the winner having the most victory points within 6" of a centrally placed terrain piece. The winner got to take it home. I almost feel bad for winning. The other armies barely gave me any notice as the Tyranids across the board went ape-shit on everyone nearby. The other Chaos player was slaughtered by the Tyranids along with Blood Angels on their other flank getting a savaging. So my Plague Marines quickly and quietly ran up to the objective and dug in. We are Chaos, we are sneaky, we are Devo! ...or something like that. In the end the Ultramarines blew up my Predator and wounded my Chaos Lord in the process. The Tyranids who survived the madness made a last second run toward the objective but they were short on points. Also once dug in my Plague Marines weren't about to be rooted out with nothing short of an orbital barrage. What a very cool objective. It is made of the bottom square part of a Necron Monolith with new Ork Trukk engine parts decorating it. Jay the store manager said he was going for an Adeptus Machanicus style outpost feel. Which I think he achieved. Now with that idea in mind and the model in hand I get to give it a paint job! I may add a few accessories to tech it up a little more. I'm sure I have a few parts lying around here somewhere. Maybe I can make it into a vehicle repair and recovery camp. When I get it done I'll post some pictures!
