Behind the GM's screen
I used to have a blog on LJ some years ago where I used to chat about life & other stuff and I still do from time to time but new passions sometimes lose your audience. So, realising what I'm sharing with friends over IMs and in person has discovered a new audience: RPGBomb.

#1 Commenter: Girl, wtf, are you talking about?
#2 Commenter: Okay, you've lost me with all this gaming business.
#3 Commenter: I don't want to hear about that *insert expletive here*.

Where did it start? I'm not really sure when. If you want to go back to RP that would have been 2004. Getting into MMOs for the first time was probably when I followed news about MUDPIE, the working title of Uru Live in the late 1990s. Oe was it when I got introduced to real time communications, ie. chat, over something called the Internet back in 1992. And as for storytelling, I was probably doing that since I was four. LOL

All in all, this isn't my first time in the DM/GM chair and as for typical gaming experiences have been varied over my lifetime but what I hope to accomplish with my latest experiment, NeoPangea, is to pull down the boundaries that separate us all gamers into these labels. My friends from other games and such have been wonderfully patient with me as I've gone to share the latest development before the launch in April and I've really appreciated them taking the time to listen to me babble on about the latest idea or concept. In essence, I've been like a kid who's learning new stuff and coming home from "school" to share. Some have received it well; others are like, "Good to hear! What else is new?" :P

I think probably the biggest indication that I needed a blog with the right audience was when designing my website I wrote a prelude to the Tools section. It was a lot longer than I anticipated it to be but it was to try to help share the vision of what could be possible now in collaborative storytelling over the Internet.

Anyhow, before I go any further, the purpose of this blog is let other gamers see behind the scenes on what is going on at NeoPangea. We're doing things a little differently with a game that was originally designed to be played PnP style around a table. It'll talk about the challenges and the perks of putting a monthly production together as well as inspirations from past experiences.

Some of what I'm talking about might have happened earlier than the actual game as I don't want to spoil any players who post here. ;)
