My final review of 4e will have to wait for another day, but I do have to say this much: although my impressions and expectations weren’t incredibly high after reading the PHB, reading the DMG pretty much cemented the deal. I don’t really want to go back to 3.x now. There may be changes I might have to make to work 4e entirely to my tastes, but the way they’ve set up the creation of encounters, treasure and so forth leaves me with a very pleased smile on my face.
So my first excursion into 4e, I am creating a new campaign setting. It’s time to get old skool Swords & Sorcery on 4e. How well this new version adapts, we’ll see.
I’ll duplicate some of my thought processes here, but I am posting a blog specifically for the campaign setting at this place: The Riverlands
Barely much done, but that is where I will post most everything related to it.
