[BEGIN TRANSMISSION]
Thought for the Day: That which does not bleed need only be cut more deeply.
Mission Datafax transmission completed successfully en route via secure comm aboard transport vessel [Censored by Inquisition]. Immediate subsequent procurement of Acolyte C S Lewis from Med-bay, and proceed to drop-shuttle to planet [Censored by Inquisition] surface. Paid locals 20 IC for escort to Underhive mission location.
Acolyte Lewis exhibits self-destructive behavioral patterns and lack of mission focus. Emperor be praised, the remainder of acolyte team exuded a greater air of competence, and perhaps, under fire, so will he. (Note Acolyte C S Lewis coincidentally absent during all combat, further experience required before pattern can be established.)
Remainder of team performance seems adequate in both combat and non-combat scenarios. Team abilities complement each other well. Reliance on archaic firearms disappointing, however demonstrably effective against xeno contacts later classified as “Necrontyr” by unknown xeno Eldar contact.
Tech priest shows weakness to proximity exposure to Necrontyr technology, please reference appropriate Imperial and Inquisitorial Codexes for countermeasures and tactica regarding known Adeptus technology interaction with Necrontyr and advise.
Mission status: Unknown. Primary objective: Locate, Identify, and Return safely Tech Priest Archaeologist [Censored by Inquisition] incomplete. His assistant scribe and servitor were successfully recovered. They were of no assistance in identifying the whereabouts of the Tech Priest and his bodyguard.
Leads include appropriately sized Human-shaped burn outline on bulkhead wall, and mishap with mysterious teleportation units (C S Lewis experienced this technology first hand while acting recklessly). Secondary objective: Explore remainder of cavern-complex later identified as a Tomb, complete.
Xeno contact brief: Necrontyr: 4 contacts. Acolytes reported two previous contacts. All contacts classified hostile. Two subcategories encountered: Humanoid Robotic, Insectoid Robotic. Humanoid robotic Necrontyr demonstrate combat potency: high/mortal. Exhibit no weakness, morality, hesitation, nor communication potential, no flesh encountered, unknown metallic composition with apparent self-reconstruction/healing properties. Insectoid robotic Necrontyr demonstrate combat potency: high/mortal. These exhibit similar behavior, higher speed and agility. When sustaining high amounts of damage, xeno disappears, no remains or proof of destruction. Encounter both with extreme prejudice.
Further contact with Necrontyr inconclusive, several other varieties docked in dormant/stasis condition within walls of chambers.
Xeno contact brief: Eldar: 8 contacts. [Censored by Inquisition] class Eldar soldiers arrived stealthily and armed but not hostile, disengaged anti-grav heavy weapon platform and allowed an escorted completion of scout objective. Eventually opened communication, and identified cavern as Tomb. Prototype Eldar technology is in place holding hostile xeno contacts in extended torpor stasis. Stasis technology is failing. Eldar force leader warns of immanent destruction of tomb, provides hard 48 hour timer to destruction event. Warns of danger to surface/nearby hive structure, suggests evacuation of endangered zone.
It is the recommendation of this Acolyte that warning be heeded and zone evacuated, with the Eldar-xenos allowed to complete their mission in destroying the tomb. Alternative is to send in militant expeditionary force with firepower superior to count of 8 [Censored by Inquisition] class Eldar infantry with heavy weapon platform support within 48 hours. Force advised also to come equipped to handle 30-50+ necrontyr-xeno hostiles with unidentified advanced weaponry, some of which has not been seen in action. Current Acolyte squad ill equipped for this possibility. Current consensus is compliance with Eldar xeno contacts, and plan is being devised regarding most efficient and expedient way to protect the local Imperial Citizens.
Please Advise.
May the God-Emperor’s light shine upon us all.
