What I like about 4E D&D:
- It really is easier to write adventures and DM.
- It plays faster.
- It drives 3.5'er snobs crazy.
- The books are built so players are less likely to go sniffing around in the DM's Guide, and there are a number of other sensible rearrangements like that.
What I don't like about 4E D&D:
- The straightjacket of roles, even to the point of turning multiclassing into a quirk.
- Everything is bent towards the goal of total party balance (the above item being a perfect example). What ever happened to tailoring a campaign for non-traditional parties?
- Even more of the "keep your eye on the miniatures" focus which, combined with the first two items, often makes it feel more like a board game.
