We cannot help but thank our members and visitors for the awesome turnout our site has received. In the last thirty days we have moved from a wannabe site to the site everyone wants to be. We have been contacted by other websites who wish to have their own RPG social site (and will soon) and asked to join with them. We of course respectfully declined. There is another social networking site out there (not a pen and paper RPG site) that looks almost exactly like us; colors, layout, and more. If it wasn't for their logo you might think you were on RPGBOMB. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I hope so.
It is really you, the members, who have made this site what it is. Back when we were but a skeletal, emaciated shadow of what we are now, many of you took a chance and help us build this site. I'd like to say it's been a long road but the site only came on line in February of this year and we just went live last May. I can't say that it hasn't been hard though. Many of us have been working late and long hours to get this site working the way you see it now. None of us would have put this effort in if we didn't know you believed in this site.
So what does the future hold? I wish I could tell you all the things going on behind the scenes. Our competition would be devastated (emotionally) if they knew. I think the next few weeks will be enlightening, the next few months very telling. If all goes right, this week you should start to see some unique content produced by RPGBOMB. We are also in talks with a handful of companies that could result in strategic partnerships that will provide our members with new content and features. I really wish I could say more but I just can't put the cart in front of the horse.
Now is the time to be a part of RPGBOMB. It is our hope that some day you can tell your friends that you were a part of the BOMB before it hit the big time. No one can say how long that will take but it sure feels good to know so many people are taking notice of us. Really, they have taken notice of you, our members. When I was at Gen-Con last week, all I heard from people was how cool our members were; no one complaining or fighting. Yes people disagreed, but it's not like some sites where people really go at each other. We have become a community of gamers who get along and I hope it stays that way. People have taken notice and, as you will see in the coming weeks, our community has attracted some big names in the industry.
Keep posting, people are listening to what you have to say. Keep inviting new people to join RPGBOMB. The site is a better place for all of us when more people contribute. Most of all keep watching. The site will keep changing. There is a lot more to come. Thank you for making this site great.
