RPG as Spectator Sport

Due to my chronic lateness (and the fact that I forgot he had a spot saved for me) I was unable to get in on the ground floor of Laggy's RPG "Cthulhu at the Sands" at the last GenConWhen Monk and I arrived at the picturesque  Union Station, I was pleasantly suprised to find a comfy couch nearby so we settled in to watch for a bit.   I am not sure if it was the deft weaving of an excellent story, the comic timing of a superb group of RP'ers or a pleasant intertwining of the two but this adventure was a joy to watch.  I actually think I had better i watching the Rat Pack defeat the nefarious Liberace that I would have had I actually participated!  So the next time you don't get on that game you REALLY wanted to play take a seat and watch.  You might be surprised!  Who knew?

I like Larping at Gencon, mainly because of the throw away nature of most of the games.

The Union Station was the best place for gaming that I have found yet at GenCon.
