The first battle with my son went well, using some rules I found around the internet. http://www.battlegroundweirdwarii.com/ I set up the scenario for the boys. The players were my son Jarrett and his best friend harry. The scenario was the Nazis had discovered a working dimensional gate and were using it to acquire allies to win the war. I’ve been painting miniatures since 1985, I started by painting dungeons and dragons figures for a couple of games called Melee and Wizard by Steve Jackson. I had a complete collection of Barbarians, rogues, Wizards, and monsters, and they looked terrible but I had fun playing with those figures. Well, here I am! It's already Wednesday, and I'm still wound up from TotalCon. I ran six events! That's a lot. I was crashing in the last slot, but that wasn't bad since the players were too. Still, we ended up getting a second wind and had a great game.

All in all, it was a good con. I like location (except for the distance from home), and it was very well organized for the most part. Of course, they did get a bit blindsided when the hotel stole a bunch of their tables for brunch. Still... Read More
