I stopped by the dollar store and found they had some great Halloween decorations. They will make for some excellent parts on the new Nurgle Dedicated Titan I'm building after the Khorne. The long bones will be useable as shins with some minor modifications. The short ones will be thighs and arms. The hands, skulls and skeletons will be great for decorations on the outside of the Titan. And the best part is I only spent $5!

A little more work and now the legs are together. More armor panels have been added and the cockpits got some work. I stopped by my local science store and picked up some rare earth magnets to hold the different heads on. Hopefully tomorrow I will get a chance to start work on the weapon systems. You can see all my progress at this Photobucket link.

And I'll form the legs...or rise my creation and walk!!! Mua ha ha ha!!!
The shins, thighs and pelvis are now assembled. Tomorrow I'm going to try to get the ankles put together before my appointment. The torso will have to be taken apart. It dried cock-eyed and needs straightening. The rest will have to wait till Saturday, as I have my Dark Heresy campaign to run Friday night. Maybe we'll have a TPK so I can hurry home to work on it. Heh heh heh...

Proof of life... or Fall has come and the spirit is motivated. I think one of the reasons for the delay, besides life getting in the way, is I haven't been listening to the right music. While my work will never grace the halls of any museum all of us miniature crafters are, to a degree, artists. For me music plays a huge influence on my creations. Song names and lyrics are always bouncing through my mind steering my designs. Well after a dispute with a bunch of readers as to who was better GWAR or Lordi. I got pretty fed up with some idiot responses and went 100% Johnny Cash all summer. Now Johnny is wonderfully dark, BUT doesn't inspire my creativity. For me you play songs like "The man comes around" when you put your newly built Warlord Titan on the battlefield to demoralize your enemies. So now I've bust back out the GWAR and Lordi albums and the blood is flowing, the gears are turning and I'm actually turning out some progress. Fall is also one of my absolutely favorite times of the y ear. I can work all day late into the night in the cool autumn air of Wisconsin. That totally beats the 90+ degree temps with nearly 100% humidity in Summer. Also the bugs are getting ready for their Winter naps. Nice! So today I cut out the legs and pelvis of the Titan. Tomorrow I'll cut out the feet, leg armor and torso parts. I have kind of come to a sticking point in if it will actually be a Banelord Titan. The number one reason is that it can go, due to it's insane nature, bat-shit nuts and charge the enemy. Other times it will go into a fire-frenzy possibly shooting my own troops. That's fine when a ED-209-sized dreadnought does that. OK fine might be strong, but it's not like having a ten-story tall million-ton death dealer with insta-kill weapons deciding to have a hissy fit amongst my own forces. So I'm either go to make it so I can swap parts or just switch to the Warlord pattern and skip making the psycho version. At least for my army. If some one wants me to build them a crazy Titan it's their choice.

As Iron Worker pointed out in a previous post you could have saved nearly 75% on a plastic Nob and Terminator just by buying the latest issue of White Dwarf magazine. And IMO the articles for 40K in it actually means you are buying the two minis for $6 not the magazine. Don't get me wrong, there are nice pictures but that's about it. I don't play Warhammer Fantasy nor do I play LotrR. I like Tolkien, just not the miniature game. Anyways in my never ending quest to be the worlds cheapest gamer I decided to turn 10 of my new plastic Nobs into Meganobs. Here is some of the starting work. Tonight and tomorrow I'll be adding more armor plates, power cables and weapons. I love green stuff but waiting for it to dry sucks. Yeah I know you can build a little baking oven using a lamp and a coffee can. But all those years of fire safety and boy scout merit badges makes me reluctant to use one.

With the xBox dropping by $50 per platform I'm looking at it as my next gaming console, but nobody I know owns one. So I'm looking at the Arcade version or the one step up $250 version. Is the hard drive very important? Or only kind of important? Does it work like a PS2 (the system I have now) and use those little cartridges to save games? I see they come with wireless controllers BUT can you get ones with cables? Sorry don't trust wireless and don't like the idea of a controller that can fly anywhere I can throw it cause it isn't tethered. Any help will be appreciated thanks!

Looking for super cheap printable cardstock building for use in Giant Monster Rampage, other Kaiju games (boo!) or table top mecha games? I made these years ago and many people find them wonderful for the games they play. Just head over to my other blog at the link here. Then page down to Downloads and Playaids, open the Kaiju folder. In there are plans for tall and short buildings. Remember to download the roofs too. They fit both building types. Also there are rubble markers and signs to make your buildings look more business-like.

While today's battle had only three kills. There was a hell of a lot of damaged dealt and health regained. Also the bell curve is tightening as we are all playing more tactically, so deaths don't come as fast. Today we tried out using the Military too. As with most Kaiju movies they we're soundly defeated. In the course of the monster mash. The Juggernaut was wrecked, MOGERA was crunched and Biollante uprooted.

In todays Giant Monster Rampage battle, in no particular order, the following Kaiju got their tails kicked.
Rodan went into a nosedive! The Juggernaut got hauled back to the repair bays! Gamera was turned into soup! (Actually Jeff needed to head home so we figured Gamera returned to the studios of the Daiei Motion Picture Company.)Destroyah was devastated! Mechagodzilla was hammered! Space Godzilla was taken down by the military! And finally Godzilla 2K felt the pinch of Ogrethulhu!
So everyone who played today earned at least one kill. Heck even the military who are an off board annoyance managed to down a Kaiju. I think in the end about 20 buildings were smashed and even the bridge connecting both sides of the city will be down for repairs where Godzilla took out his wrath. It's gonna be a crappy Monday in "The City" when people come to work and find their office buildings gone! Plus two industrial chemical storage plants were annihilated spread toxic waste in all directions!

I recently picked up the Nick Stone figure from Reaper. I'm going to use him in Mutant Future as a super soldier wandering the strange and twisted new world. I wish Chronoscope came out years ago. Though it probably would have done me no good as I wasn't at the skill level I am now for painting. Nick tops out at a whopping 1 3/8". Which for the line of figures doesn't make him singular in tallness. I happened to stand the mechanic figure I painted for Jewels from the other day next to him and she is practically the same height. While I like having figures of different sizes and heights I hope not all of them will be beanpoles. But having 7 foot tall genetically altered super soldiers is great!

Are you having trouble getting your arrow to point to where your actual home town is? I find putting in the Latitude and Longitude helps. If you go to this link and page down to the yellow off-set square and pick your state and city it will come up with the info you need to put in your Profile Settings. Mind you the info they give will cause it to point to the center of your town not where you live exactly. But hopefully it will bring your arrow closer to home. Hope this helps.

For Nathan who plays a Tech Priest in DH. I painted this figure that he picked out from my bottomless pile of pewter and lead. As a small reminder of his encounter with the Necrontyr I added a piece of one to the base. Kind of as a grim reminder of the taint the Necron leave on all they encounter.
The Psyker with a sword was made for a player who came from a feudal world, but wasn't able to stick with the game. The pimp'n Psyker is from an Imperial world. With his style'n cane, fancy psychic hood and over the top plumage he is all the talk on the runway!

This week was a short game as most of the time was taken up with shopping and research early in the session.
The episode opens with the Dutiful Vengeance coming out of the Warp near the Forge World Belacane. They they were able to witness the Fleet of Thule returned from one of it's ten year journeys to the farthest reaches of the Segmentum Pacificus. Everything from massive battleships down to troop carriers was parked all around the system. Slowly the ships were rotating in, to dock with that space station over the Forge World. Once docked the acolytes went about shopping while the Tech Priest went to do research and catch up with an old colleague from his home Forge World of Turanshush. After so small talk his friend Zarkov presented him with a damaged servo arm from a deceased apprentice. Meanwhile the rest of the party ofter their ship for cargo transporting. Taking the new prize and meeting up with the rest of the party they were soon contacted to bring 40 tons of supplies to an outpost on the frontier world of Calistra. The trip there was mostly uneventful till the Tech Priest set off a ammunition project in his workshop. Soon after the muffled WOMP! he emerged blacked from the waster up. After landing on the devastated world of Calistra they loading up the vehicles lent with the cargo and slowly progressed into the ruined city. Within two blocks of the encampment a small gang of the Techno Barbarians charged out to attack. While battling out with them four strangely armored soldiers appeared out of bright blue flashes of light. The party, keeping an eye on the new arrivals, continued to battle the savages. Quickly the new warriors moved in and assisted the heroes in dispatching the villains. With all the blood spilled in combat soon giant sewer rats were draw to the offering of fresh meat. Finishing with the Techno Barbarians they moved on to dispatch the rodents. Soon the battle was over. The new arrivals passed by the heroes and saluted offers a few words in a strangely foreign language. Quickly the strange left and the heros finished delivering their cargo to the Tech Priest camp. Upon returning to their ship they spotted a strange ship lifting off and heading to orbit. Quickly the took off after it in pursuit. Quickly they caught up with the ship as it headed towards a space hulk slowly emerging from the warp. Before the Merc could tell the pilot to hold back, the Tech Priest order him to follow them in. From a crevasse in the mish-mash of asteroids, ships and space junk emerged a long column with a massive sphere on top. Sparking fingers of lightening arced out from the tower and surrounded the ship in a tractor beam. Or scene closes as the acolyte ship is drawn into one of the gaping bays of the massive Space Hulk.
What will the heroes find on board? How do they defeat the tractor beam? Where is the Space Hulk going? Those any many more questions will be answered next time!

Went by the LGS today and saw the new Tool Bots( 50015) from Reaper and they are Su-weeeeet! So I picked them up for S&Gs. Besides what's one more blister of miniatures going to hurt? So I quickly went home to assemble them and finish up the two A.U. Utility Bots I've been puttering around with. Hopefully next week I will be able to slap some paint on these guys. While these guys have no stats for the tabletop game I sometimes like to flesh out stuff as little side projects. I also picked up Nick Stone and Willy Brassbender yesterday. I'm thinking they will make great Dark Heresy figures or heroes for any other sci-fi RPGs I might get to play in. That Nick stone figure is a big guy too! He stands nearly a head taller than my old pewter Chaos Terminators! He's like 7 or 8 feet tall in scale. But it works for me since he is probably a genetically altered super soldier.
