Are you having trouble getting your arrow to point to where your actual home town is? I find putting in the Latitude and Longitude helps. If you go to this link and page down to the yellow off-set square and pick your state and city it will come up with the info you need to put in your Profile Settings. Mind you the info they give will cause it to point to the center of your town not where you live exactly. But hopefully it will bring your arrow closer to home. Hope this helps.

For Nathan who plays a Tech Priest in DH. I painted this figure that he picked out from my bottomless pile of pewter and lead. As a small reminder of his encounter with the Necrontyr I added a piece of one to the base. Kind of as a grim reminder of the taint the Necron leave on all they encounter.
The Psyker with a sword was made for a player who came from a feudal world, but wasn't able to stick with the game. The pimp'n Psyker is from an Imperial world. With his style'n cane, fancy psychic hood and over the top plumage he is all the talk on the runway!

This week was a short game as most of the time was taken up with shopping and research early in the session.
The episode opens with the Dutiful Vengeance coming out of the Warp near the Forge World Belacane. They they were able to witness the Fleet of Thule returned from one of it's ten year journeys to the farthest reaches of the Segmentum Pacificus. Everything from massive battleships down to troop carriers was parked all around the system. Slowly the ships were rotating in, to dock with that space station over the Forge World. Once docked the acolytes went about shopping while the Tech Priest went to do research and catch up with an old colleague from his home Forge World of Turanshush. After so small talk his friend Zarkov presented him with a damaged servo arm from a deceased apprentice. Meanwhile the rest of the party ofter their ship for cargo transporting. Taking the new prize and meeting up with the rest of the party they were soon contacted to bring 40 tons of supplies to an outpost on the frontier world of Calistra. The trip there was mostly uneventful till the Tech Priest set off a ammunition project in his workshop. Soon after the muffled WOMP! he emerged blacked from the waster up. After landing on the devastated world of Calistra they loading up the vehicles lent with the cargo and slowly progressed into the ruined city. Within two blocks of the encampment a small gang of the Techno Barbarians charged out to attack. While battling out with them four strangely armored soldiers appeared out of bright blue flashes of light. The party, keeping an eye on the new arrivals, continued to battle the savages. Quickly the new warriors moved in and assisted the heroes in dispatching the villains. With all the blood spilled in combat soon giant sewer rats were draw to the offering of fresh meat. Finishing with the Techno Barbarians they moved on to dispatch the rodents. Soon the battle was over. The new arrivals passed by the heroes and saluted offers a few words in a strangely foreign language. Quickly the strange left and the heros finished delivering their cargo to the Tech Priest camp. Upon returning to their ship they spotted a strange ship lifting off and heading to orbit. Quickly the took off after it in pursuit. Quickly they caught up with the ship as it headed towards a space hulk slowly emerging from the warp. Before the Merc could tell the pilot to hold back, the Tech Priest order him to follow them in. From a crevasse in the mish-mash of asteroids, ships and space junk emerged a long column with a massive sphere on top. Sparking fingers of lightening arced out from the tower and surrounded the ship in a tractor beam. Or scene closes as the acolyte ship is drawn into one of the gaping bays of the massive Space Hulk.
What will the heroes find on board? How do they defeat the tractor beam? Where is the Space Hulk going? Those any many more questions will be answered next time!

Went by the LGS today and saw the new Tool Bots( 50015) from Reaper and they are Su-weeeeet! So I picked them up for S&Gs. Besides what's one more blister of miniatures going to hurt? So I quickly went home to assemble them and finish up the two A.U. Utility Bots I've been puttering around with. Hopefully next week I will be able to slap some paint on these guys. While these guys have no stats for the tabletop game I sometimes like to flesh out stuff as little side projects. I also picked up Nick Stone and Willy Brassbender yesterday. I'm thinking they will make great Dark Heresy figures or heroes for any other sci-fi RPGs I might get to play in. That Nick stone figure is a big guy too! He stands nearly a head taller than my old pewter Chaos Terminators! He's like 7 or 8 feet tall in scale. But it works for me since he is probably a genetically altered super soldier.
Did you know my other Blog is a Blogger.com Blog? You can check it out here!

I was fiddling around with more stuff to convert for my Adrantis Union army. I found I still had two more Tau battle suits lying around the work shop. While assembling them I realized that I didn't want to use the original Tau mecha hooves. While looking through my parts I found I had ba-zillions of Fire Warrior shoulder pads. I put some down flat on the base to see if they would be good for feet. But they just looked too tiny. So I used the legs to figure out where the feet would need to be on each base and then followed around them with green stuff to bulk them up. It was Jewels who thought they looked like tennis shoes.

Today I tinkered with some ideas for Commander Sark's robotic troopers. It's not a real big conversion. Then again if everything you convert in an army takes 10 hours per fig you better have a small army if it's every going to hit the table! So basically it's a head swap out and a combat knife to replace the ax on the end of the gauss rifle. Lastly they will be getting blue translucent rods instead of the Necron green. A little tinkering with the photo shows what they will look like. It's like what I did with Sark's Gauss Cannon. I like the Tau helmets, I think they give the Necron warriors a more utility robot look. While not much in the Macharian Crusade mini-dex is said about Sark I don't see him like other forces in 40K. In other words he's probably more sane or practical. Less skulls and wicked pointy parts. Kinda of like the Tau without the creepy Scientology message. So I'm trying to create a more utilitarian force.

I've been working on this guy for the last week. The guys over at The Fly Lords of Terra have posted a painting challenge for Independent Characters from their new Play Aid The Macharian Crusade. Commander Sark is the leader of the armed forces of the Adrantis Union. The Forces include high-tech human soldiers and robotic forces. The Adrantis Union represents a pocket of human civilization who hasn't gone through a dark age of technology like the Imperium of Man. The Imperium has nearly as high a level of technology, but they also revere it and have some very odd superstitions about it. For example the Imperium doesn't use robots or any sort of automated soldiers. It's consider a blasphemy to make something that looks and acts human but isn't. Kind of like Paris Hilton. So anyways the character has a bit of a James T Kirk look him which I tried to follow. You can see photos of him here. I'll be submitting him this next week and they will have a poll where you can vote for the best one. Once the poll goes up I will post a link for those who want to vote.

This week the story opens as the Acolytes are leaving the sub foundation of Hive Secundus. As they reentered the city proper they came face to face with a what looked like a block war! Suddenly the Adeptus Arbites received a call to join rank with the local police force to help quell the riot. Quickly the rest of them worked their way to the space port. In between dodging gun fire and rioters, the heroes noticed mixed in gangers with their faced painted silver and green. Also a paticulary large surge of rioter separated the assassin from the group. Once at the space port the heroes contacted the planetary governor and sent him an edited recording of the Necrontyr encounter. Quickly transport was rushed out to whisk them to the Imperial palace at Hive Primus for further debriefing. Once at the palace the heroes found out first hand that the Iron Snakes marine chapter had come to the planet to investigate the situation. After having a discussion with the chapter master the governor invited the party into his inner office. There he revealed he too had been in secret contact with the Eldar and was aware of their time line. He also explained with the martial pride of the marines at stake that they would not sit still while the xeno scum blast a hive city off a planet they are protecting. Also due to the Governor calling in the Imperial Navy to help he was between two rocks and a hard place. The Governor had to call in the event even though he secretly welcomed the Eldar destroying the ancient threat to his planet. Without the call it would have left him looking suspicious in the aftermath. So quietly the Governor took out of his top desk drawer a small Eldar communicator and placed it on his desk and quickly left his office. Locked inside, the group contacted the Eldar Farseer. Quickly the Tech Priest and Merc were teleported to their craftworld. There they met up with the Farseer and concocted a plan to allow the craftworld to get close enough to the planet to blast the hive city and its buried evil to atoms without the Marine fleet interfering. As the deadline crept closer the two heroes were transmatted back to their ship the Dutiful Vengeance. Just a few kilometers from the marine fleet a small human life boat was spit forth from the warp into real space. It broad casted an all frequencies warning of an impending Tyranid attack. The marines took the pod on board and once opened the booby-trapped pod activated an Eldar temporal distortion device slowing the marines and all withing 20 kilometers to a crawl. Meanwhile on the planet below the scum and psyker went on a shopping trip around Hive Primus. There they met tailors, weapon smiths, and underworld criminals. The Dutiful Vengeance dived into the atmosphere as the marine fighters were called back to the trapped fleet. Quickly the rest of the team was picked up and shuttled back into space as the Eldar craftworld jumped into near orbit and proceeded to annihilate Hive Secundus from the face of Grove's Fall. Just as quickly as they appeared they vanished after the attack. With the governor clear of any xeno dealings, the Necron tomb destroyed and the Iron Snakes marine chapter embarrassed but unharmed our heroes quickly exited stage left with a short jump to a nearby Forge World for some much needed down time.
What happened to the Assassin? Well that is a tale for another time...

It's always in the last place you look... Cause you stop looking after you find it...
Well that'll show me to shoot my mouth off. I finally found the parts and they weren't organized like they should. Instead they were tucked away in an old French Onion dip container in the bottom of a junk box. Bad CT, bad, bad CT!!! For shame!
Shoot! Now I want tato chips and dip...grumble grumble...

Today I went to the Bell of Lost Souls a 40K fan site ran by The Fly Lords of Terra. They are running a small contest for people to make custom figures of one of the Independent Characters. I choose Sark who strangely resembles James T. Kirk , but is running around in a Tau style battle suit. Well I figure if I make the HQ choice for the army why not make the army that goes with it. I'm gonna keep it tame and only make a small force. No, really! So this afternoon I go to look around for the necessary parts to start gathering, and for the life of me I can't find any of my Tau parts I had left over from a previous projects. So the questions that come to mind are. Am I so old now I just can't remember where the hell I put them? Am I so old that I only imagine I have left over parts? Or do I need to totally over haul my shelves so things are more manageable? Here's a quick snap of one of them. I thought my system was pretty good but apparently not. Then again maybe it's good and my brain has gone bad. This is depressing. I'm off to go find my missing minis or brains.

Last time we joined up with the party of Inquisitor Acolytes they were about to ascend a flight of stairs deeper into the techno-catacombs...
As they reached the top of the stairs they came to what appeared to be a throne chamber. The ceiling was draped in cables and foul xeno-tech. At the very center hovered an empty throne held aloft by evil forces. For a second the machinery around them flickered to life, with a hologram of the galaxy coming into focus above them. Amongst the stars strange symbols marked star systems across the map. At the same time their chronometers started to fail. The group continued deeper into the maze of rooms and chambers till the criminal wandered into an alien trans-mat. Suddenly he vanished. In his place stood yet another, shinier robot. Quickly the assassin engaged the machine while the merc circled behind to attack. When the rest of the party engaged the homicidal robot the con man found himself teleported back to an earlier spot in the catacombs where the second bot emerged. Quickly he circled back as the robot was put down. Frustratingly, the party again was left with no remains to study. Bravely the party continued on, passing through rooms with massive energy cylinders, strange looking medical equipment and more wall etchings. While passing through a chamber more scarab robots emerged from the murals and attacked. Meanwhile a blurted out curse from deeper alerted them to further interlopers. Dispatching the swarm of insect machines they pressed forward to confront their new enemies. Cries of panic alerted them to another, greater threat that seemed to be mowing down other humans who had earlier worked their way into the tomb. A panicked Heretek, his eyes wide with terror, blasted his way through a wall with his plasma gun trying to evade ... something. Four lances of energy shredded the criminal leaving only fist-sized chunks of steaming flesh and twisted bits of gear. The rest of the criminal band was picked off one by one till none were left. The tech priest rushed forward to see what was doing the killing only to come face to face with a massive alien floating weapon platform. As the con man tried to flee the new threat he turned a corner to pause. With a gentle tap on his shoulder he turned to face a squad of slender crimson-armored troops with tall black helmets. The assassin recognized them as the enigmatic Eldar. They moved forward to subdue the weapo n. In the process the aliens explained how they placed a time altering device that would keep the machines in the tomb dormant. Unfortunately it was a failing prototype. The party found out that the machines lying in the chambers are called the Necrontyr and are a terrible threat to the galaxy. Before being asked to leave the aliens gave the party one last message. Clear the city above in 2 days, as destruction from above will rain down obliterating the dire threat buried underneath it.
So who will the party go to, to issue this order? Will the authorities listen? How will they react to menacing threats for Eldar xenos? Join us next time for Dark Heresy Theater!

...I put the Demolisher Cannon on the wrong side. Oh well! My guys are traitors anyways so who's gonna care? The lap-dogs of the Emperor? Thpppppt! I have a ton of tank chassis' and parts in file boxes in my work area and wanted to add some heavy firepower to my Iron Warrior army. So the other day I dug out some classic Rhino parts and a some other odds and ends. A few hours later, presto, instant heavy support!
Tonight I worked on bringing my Nurgle Terminators from 5 up to 10 members strong. They have been getting their butts shot off by squads that greatly out number them so hopefully the reinforcements will help. This guy I wanted to try something new with and gave him a fly head shaped helmet.
"My what big eyes you have! The better to shoot you with!"

These last two weeks my dad and I have been building a cart that I can pull behind my bike. I'm tired of wasting good money on gas and I really enjoy bicycling as any of my friends can tell you. Yeah I could have bought one, but I like doing projects with my dad. He has over 30 years of engineering experience so why not take advantage of it? So now I have a light-weight and convenient way to transport my gaming stuff around town. It may look easy to build, but it's my dad's engineering knowledge that makes this such a sound piece of construction. He came up with the idea of using a screw-in office chair caster as the pivot for the cart and machined the bracket that holds it. He also machined and threaded the axle. Meanwhile I primed and painted the wood platform and axle. With her all assembled I took it for a test drive and it works great. Tomorrow it will go on its maiden voyage to my local GW store so I can spend the day there gaming and painting!
You can see more images of it here.
I'm thinking of painting Warhammer 40K Express on the sides. So now I can do three things. Save money, exercise and wargame! You can't beat that!

Tonight on DHT our heroes found themselves deep under a hive city searching for a missing Adeptus Mechanicus researcher. While in the process of replacing support pylons under the hive with new ferro-crete piles, he discovered the ruins of a tomb buried deep under the hive city. 72 hours later without checking in, the heroes have been sent to find him and his workers. After a quick exchange with some under-hive mutants they found the entrance to the tomb and quickly descended. The first two gloomy chambers were filled with inches of carbon powder. While looking around, up out of the dust rose the corroded frame of some strange robot. They blasted it to pieces but found no trace of it after the shootout. Continuing deeper into the tomb they next encountered four beetle-shaped robots that snapped at them viciously, The Tech-Priest, after the ambush, studied the pictographs engraved on the walls. There the tale told of the tomb occupants shedding their mortal bodies for shiny metals ones millions of years ago and then they marched across the stars to dominate the galaxy. Continuing deeper into the chambers, the acolytes found repair bays and other weird technology all strangely dormant. From a shadowy alcove another robot came marching out blasting his strange energy weapon and severely wounding the Merc. Falling back the Tech-Priest and Merc returned fire leveling the enemy in a hail of destructive blasts. Again their enemy left no remains for them to study. As the night came to a close the heroes were about to ascend some dark stairs deeper into the tomb. So what's in store for our heros? Will they discover who are the occupants of the tomb? What danger lies deeper inside? Come back next time for more Dark Heresy Theater!!!

Friday night I won a free box of GW Empire State Handgunner Miniatures in a Friday Night Fights points auction. Saturday I survived nature attempting to erase Milwaukee off the the face of the Earth with severe thunderstorms, tornadoes and flash flooding! Then Sunday during Robotech my Veritech pilot character Alex Long reached level 1! After winning a combat exercise I have been made point man for my wing of experimental mecha. So in general not a bad weekend I think, especially the living part.
