I remember him saying "I will not waste ammo...I will not waste ammo" during a major battle.  He was a good kid.

It takes some serious stones to go toe to toe with a Gundam with only a zaku, but then maybe it wasn't such a good gundam in the end considereing he was considered a writeoff by higher and the Gundam pilot was a test pilot.

GM Ball rules (okay maybe this one time)!

Much love and welcome from one UC Gundam fan to another.  Props on the icon!

Thanks!  Of all the Gundam Pilot Kou was my favorite; I can relate to his character (over his head due to errors not of his making).

My favorite character was Chuck Keith- I loved the fac tthat he learned semi-realistically, barely surviving battle after battle until he could hold his own.  I loved Gundam 0080 as well, it takes balls to take on a prototype gundam in a Zaku.  Still, I think my fabsolute favorite series is 08 MS team- Zaku vs. ball and the BALL wins? Oh yeah.

Wow, that sounds like a great idea!  Please let me know how it goes, and how you guys do hand to hand combat, which is something I always thought was missing from Mechwarrior.  Then again, I do watch a hell of a lot of Gundam(UC only).  Don't get me wrong, I don't want to see beam sabers in Mechwarrior, but I always liked the idea of smacking a mech across the knee actuator with a hatchet.

Actually, there are rules for doing physical attacks. In both the RPG and the Tabletop system. Fairly simplistic (I think) as far as to how it works, but it is there (still more works better than the Clix H2H though). And if you are using the MW3 rules, you could even give your pilot 'Mech Martial Arts.   Although it isn't as cool as it sounds, but it is fun to imagine what you are actually doing when you do it, plus you can always come up with new move sets and house rules.

Actually, I own Mechwarrior second edition, and am taking my sweet time getting 3rd.  I was hoping 3rd would cover Dark Ages, but there seem to be too many people against it, which is a shame.

Well, the rule book was originally published long before the Clix game was even a design idea. And while the rules may not cover Dark Age, there isn't anything stopping you from playing the game in that era. It's just an advanced time line of the current CBT line. Which of course means that there will be more material covering DA whether people want it or not, just a matter of when.

In fact, the GM of my Battletech group has plans to run a game in the DA era. We normally do a mix tabletop/rpg game.

If you want to see a RPG in the Mechwarrior setting, I suggest you try looking at the Classic Battletech RPG book (also known as Mechwarrior 3rd Edition). Any vehicle or mech combat is going to be referring to CBT Minis rules rather than the MW Clix though. That said, I have seen a few custom Mechwarrior RPG rules out on the net. Of course, this is all assuming you are referring to dice games rather than a video game.   In which case, there is Mechassault for the Xbox, although not really a RPG

Hunter seemed like a great game, but I couldn't get anyone interested so I never picked it up.  But i prefer shapeshifters anyway.  I got a chance to play a Corax, Bastet, Gurahl and Nuwisha.

I did play the old version as a tabletop and a LARP. Lots of fun. This one looks more dark.

Did not care very much for the original Changeling, although I thought it was an usually sensual game(the one I was in had two unseelie satyrs [one of which was me], a seelie eshu, and an unseelie(surprise!) Sidhe). I am loving the darkness inherent in this new edition, after all, it's what WoD does best.

Very true at that!  I am a big werewolf fan myself.

A WEREWOLF fan? That's great- I own almost everything for werewolf, both second and revised editions.  The only thing I own everything for from white wolf is Hunter the Reckoning- an underrated and intentionally misunderstood game!

Hello Dari! I love the new Changeling- I think it's truly amazing and frightening at the same time. Thank you for the warm welcome!

I think they both have merits and I'm looking forward to getting a chance to play it instead of just read it and drool.

What do you think of the new Changeling?
