Just out of curiosity, are you drinking draft or bottled microbrews? Most microbrews are pasteurized differently than macrobrews and have a shorter shelf life.Unless you’re having a pint from the tap or careful about the “bottled on” date, it’s easy to get some skunked up beer.
Or, perhaps you just prefer the taste of macrobrews. To each their own...
Both actually. I'm not so big on "macrobrews," Shiner, Labatts, Miller Highlife (yes the cheap one), Warsteiner, Old Speckled Hen, and Michelobe Ultra Amber are my drethers when not being a "real" beer drinker. I've spent a lot of time in Austin and find most small brews are fruit-filled and/or taste like caramel. Up here by the Great lakes, they mostly taste like copper (with a lot of fruity ones at that). Gimme a good "Alt Bier" (boch/red) or a "Pilsner" anytime.
By the way, the ram, of GenCon fame, has about the only microbrewed beer that I ever liked, their Blond Ale I think it was. Give it a try sometime, avoid the "special GenCon" brews.
Noticed you're interested in T&T. You ever played it before?
