Next was a RPG system that was hodge podged together and was compiled into three chap books.

Then was a mass market "Basic D&D" boxed set with manuals, dice, crayon for inking the dice, and a first adventure.  This is the blue box set. This was on the mid to late '70s.

After that came Advanced, Dungeon and Dragons which can be through of as D&D first edition. I still have a character, now an NPC from this edition.  The caracter was created in 1978.
