Hello everyone, My name is Michael and I've been a member of RPGBomb.com since March 17, 2008. I thought I'd go ahead and properly introduce myself. My first introduction into the world of RPGs was the console rpgs. God, I loved those and I still do. My first one was and still fondly rememeber is "Dragon Warrior" for the good old NES when I finally got the NES either in Christmas of 1989 or 1990. After several tries of it plus not understanding it, I was hooked for life. After that came "Final Fantasy". And then the rest is history along with the SNES and the PS1. I've been wanting to play DnD since I was a kid. Tried ADnD 2E back in the mid 90's with the "First Quest" box set. Couldn't get into it largely due to THACO and no one to play with. There was someone I knew in school who has a son that was in a group and I couldn't make it since I was starting out in a new job and it was my 1st job. Then, in the early 2000's, along came a new box set for DnD and it made sense better to me than ADnD but still had no one to play with. Then, one day in 2006, I was in Books a Million and saw this book entitled "DnD for Dummies" and checked it out. Great book! I loved it and read some more. It was for the v3.5. It made a lot of sense to me finally due to the d20 system and no THACO. I was cash strapped at the time so I had my mom buy me this book so I could read some more and studied it. I also checked out and bought "DMing for Dummies". Also a great book! Finally went ahead bought the v3.5 of the PHB. DMG and MM myself. Finally someone at my job played DnD and had a DM, so I hooked up with him and his DM and played a few ttrpgs until the DM quit due to wanting to go back to school. So. the player moved on to play in groups at a gamestore and I couldn't due to real life issues. Last year, I looked to online to see what I can do about playing DnD and heard of PBeMs and PbPs. So, I checked them out and now I'm playing DnD using those. I also plays other rpgs like Shadowrun 4E. Now, CCGs, I love playing Magic: the Gathering and been so on and off since 1995. It was hard to find players back then. Now, with Friday Nite Magic, it's no problem. Of course, as long as the game store I go to doesn't fold. I like Netrunner but doesn't know really how to play it but would love to. Of course, at the time, no one in town that I know of even today that knows Netrunner and plays it. Oh well. Lastly, I am not trying to shock y'all but I am deaf and can hear with hearing aids. However, without them, I hear nothing at all expect for extremely loud noises like thunder and planes. I can talk fine and hears okay as long as I use my digital hearing aids, lol. I'm a military brat and was born in NC, and been to England, GA, CA, NJ and now here in SC and here the longest. And I'm 31. -Michael/SoloDM

July 13, 2008 Hello everyone, How it going? Letting you all know I'll be doing a PBeM game soon using the Google Groups. As far as to my knowledge, there are no DnD pbems in there like Yahoo Groups does, and I'm in a few of those. The reason why I want to use Google Groups is that I want to take that for a test drive and then compare it to Google Groups and Yahoo Groups. If you ask me about MSN Groups, I'm telling you no because I already checked it out. Space too small and it's not as keen as Yahoo Groups and Google Groups are. I'm going to use DnD v3.5 as the game. I'll be using a module instead of homebrew stuff and or using a module and do something else with it. The reasons why are: I'm already working on solo adventures by taking 2E adventures (soon), 3E adventures (doing it) and v3.5 adventures (doing it) and change them just enough for someone to solo in them (see www.groups.yahoo.com/group/the_solo_adventurer/ ). I'm gamemastering a d20 Modern and Urban Arcana pbp game (see www.setbb.com/adhoc/viewforum.php?f=18&sid=07b57042aa646f1286437fe5daf31203&mforum=adhoc ) using d20 Modern adventures and stuff, Urban Aracna Adventures and other d20 adventures with Cyberpunk 2020 and Shadowrun 4E thrown in therefore I call my d20 Modern and Urban Arcana world, Urban Modern. In other words, it's mostly homebrewed. I also got this The Solo Quester thing going on too (see www.cumessen.proboards74.com ). I playtest the solo adventures I make with a select group of playtesters. So, I'll be using a module to help me with time and material plus I would like to see how the module I pick unfolds also. Don't worry, if y'all do something unexpected that's not in the module, I can wing it and or work with you. No problem. I may be a rookie dungeon master/gamemaster but I got some experience under my belt. My posting guidelines and rules won't be as strict due to my other projects and real life (see http://www.setbb.com/adhoc/viewtopic.php?t=143&mforum=adhoc ), instead of you having 48 hours to make a post, I'm saying you have 96 hours to make your post. The rest of the Posting Guidelines and Rules are still in effect for this upcoming pbem. Would you all be interested in playing in my upcoming pbem soon? I also have an assistant (co-dungeon master or dungeon master's assistant in other words) lined up already to help me out as needed. I'm thinking August or September and I'm torn between "City of the Spider Queen" and "Expendition to the Ruins of Greyhawk". I'm looking for no more than six players and I'll be accepting lurkers also for anyone who wants to just lurk and also when a player drops out or any problem, I'll be activating a lurker to player status. When the module ends, it ends. If it's a success and we like how it went and all that, I'll be doing many mini-campagins and one-shots like "Expendition to Castle Ravonloft" and "The Sunless Citidel". Thanks for your time, SoloDM

I am a A Rune Dragon! Hey, I took the http://dragonhame.com online Inner Dragon quiz and found out I am a Rune Dragon on the inside. In the war between good and evil, Rune Dragons take the side of the noble and good. ...When it comes to the powers of Chaos vs. those of Law and Order, your inner dragon tends to do things by the book. ...As far as magical tendancies, a Rune Dragon's nature does not lend itself well to the ways of Magic. ...During combat situations, whether by spells or by claw, your inner dragon will do whatever it takes to get the job done. ...'Although it does not cast spells itself, the Rune Dragon is Very magical in nature. In fact, it is a being made almost purely from the stuff of magic itself. 'The Rune Dragon appears dull grey in color, with each of it's scales containing a magical glyph of power. These glyphs contain the mighty spells involved in the dragons making. To undo these glyphs is to undo the dragon itself. It should also be noted that when the Rune Dragon has completed the task set for it, it's soul is freed from it's body. http://Dragonhame.Com

Coming soon to a computer screen in front of you, I'm planning on gamemastering a pbp game containing d20 Modern and Urban Arcana. The catch is...there's no magic to be had! Just straightforward guns and technology and still have the races found in Urban Arcana as well as d20 Modern. If anyone is interested in giving my game world a try, by all means, reply to this post so I'll know I have interested players and how many. Its name is "Urban Modern"... Here's the link to the game: www.setbb.com/adhoc/viewforum.php?f=18&sid=07b57042aa646f1286437fe5daf31203&mforum=adhoc

Where's the Dashboard?
Look to your left. The latest update to the account page frees up space by moving the dashboard to the left side. It still works the same, it's just slimmer and sexier. And for those of you that don't know it, you can collapse the dashboard by clicking on the header.
