Posted On: 04/25/2008 16:41:15

Hello all.

I am going to talk about DM calls common sence and when its time to say

sorry the rule dont work here so we are going to do this.

There is a time for common sence insted of "The rules"

Its Role playing, not let get a book and listin to absoulty everything it says to a T.

What happened to the DM's that used to say "we are fudging this rule because it dose not make sence right now"?

Well wither way, That the way it go's

love ya all

I am something of a Rules-Lawyer (a Rule-Nazi by some) myself. I hate having to lose out to something (or even win for that matter) due to rules screwup. Whether it be because of a rule being fudged or simply forgotten/overlooked. That said, as long as I know before hand of the rules that the GM is going to use/modify, I have no problem with it. I just like knowing what I am dealing with.

I think this is a biproduct of a new generation of gamers who seem to be very technical in their play. I have noticed that the youngbloods in my area are all very much rules lawyers bor better or for worse. I can honestly say that I've never read a rullebook front to back, but these "kids" seem to have an almost encyclopedic command of the rules.

I'm not sure if its the fact that many of them cut their teeth minmaxing in MMORPGs or card games or what, but they all seem to have wrpped their brains around the technical aspects of the game and when an issue comes up, their first instinct is to paw through the books.

Thanks for responding
